Existing solar arrays last anywhere from 25 to 50 years, That’s decades of savings on your electricity that you may be interested in reaping the benefits of!

A lot of homeowners wonder about the impact that solar panels may have on their roofs.

Is the roof going to be secure with solar over time? Should you on replace the roof when you go solar or even use a ground mount?

Do You Need a Roof Replacement First?

We always do a roof inspection before installing solar panels to make sure that it is going to be secure. This is especially important if your roof may already be near the end of its life.

The advantage of replacing a roof when you go solar is that the 26% tax credit (ITC) may be applied to part or all of the roofing costs.

Overall, if you think you may need a roof replacement in the next 10 years or so, Zero Down Solar will give an expert opinion before any solar  installation. We have a number of roofing companies we can recommend that we trust and believe in – so you can get a couple of bids!

If you do need a new roof before Going Solar energy, it’s a good idea to get it done. The 26% tax credit can be applied to upto 100% of the re roofing cost if it is done at the same time.

Plus, when you add solar panels to your roof, the panels extend the lifetime of your roof.

Combined Financing

Replacing your roof and installing a solar power system can be costly undertakings that require extended financial projections. Completing both projects through our easy $0 down financing provides you the chance to pay for everything through a single loan, instead of pursuing multiple options from various vendors and banks.

Improved Home Value

Adding solar to your home or business increases the property value. There are several ways of calculating the increased value, but ours is the most conservative- $5000/kW. So if you add 15x 400 watt panels (6kW), you will be conservatively adding $24000 to the value of your home.

When you replace your roof and add solar panels, it can boost your home’s curb appeal. In fact, Remodeling Magazine reports that a brand-new roof can increase your home’s resale value by over $17k on average at the national level. It just makes financial sense!
